BPM (Beam Position Monitor)

Libera Platform B

The Libera is a data acquisition and beam position processor system used for the BPM systems in different accelerators and transfer lines. It was developed by the slovenian company Instrumentation Technologies and was adapted and enhanced for FAIR applications as an in-kind contribution. It is a modular MicroTCA based system used in different configurations for the particular requirements of the BPM systems. Another application for the Libera at GSI/FAIR is the Low Level RF (LLRF) controlling. It is under responsibilty of GSI's LRF department and not further treated in this article.
