We recently purchased a piezo-valve at Oxford Applied Reserach and started tests at the
dedicated gauge calibration chamer of the UHV-department. A first characteristic of the
piezo valve was recorded with three different gauges independently. The valve was hooked
to a nitrogen supply with 1750 mbar pressure. The work was done in collaboration with the
UHV-department, in particular with Marc Wengenroth. (Frank)
It was shown that the orignial Oxford Applied PLV-1000 pulser is not suitable for any
pulsed operation due to several design issues. There was a workarround provided by the
company to bypass the controller-bord. Meanwhile a GSI homemade solution was developed,
based on a HV-Behlke switch with even better results. First data can be found here:
