Cabling for the HTP Experimental Area

Existing Cables & Patch Panels

List of cables (HTP to AP container):

  • 4x high voltage cable, SHV connector
  • 8x signal cable, RG214, N connector
  • 2x multi-core cable, Sub-D 25-pin
  • 3x signal cable, RG214, BNC connector
  • Network connection
  • 1x duplex LWL

Most of these cables are used by beam loss monitors, the existing RT/FCT transformer combination and camera system for the screen ladder. As these detector installations are virtually permanent, the existing cabling between HTP and AP container is exhausted.

Therefore, all new detector installations will be routed via new cables and patch panels.

New Cables & Patch Panels

The following cables were installed between AP container and HTP beam line:

  • 10x RG214, N connector (female), patch panel
  • 8x RG58, BNC connector (female), patch panel
  • 6x HV cable, SHV connector (female), patch panel
  • 8x CAT7, ??? connector (female), patch panel
  • 8x multi-core, 15-pin, Sub-D connector (female), patch panel
  • 10x multi-core, 9-pin, Sub-D connector (female), patch panel
  • 2x ProfiNet (CAT 5), no patch panel
  • 4x LWL cable duplex (2 duplex connections/cable), no patch panel
  • 2x LWL mono-mode cable (LEONI FibreConnect I-V(ZN)H, 60 m length), connector FC/APC, no patch panel
  • 6x multi-core, 2-pin, Lemo connector, no patch panel
Cable Requirements, 29th November 2013

Note:
Changes due to Stepper Motor Controller, 1x 25-pin and 1x 9-pin cable, are not included in this scheme.
Infrastructure (no. of 230 V sockets or no. of LAN ports) is yet to be finalised.
