Todo list from first meeting with CSCO on “Agenda 2017” (11 May 2015): todo list
At present various projects and activities require a substantial re-work of the existing BI equipment at GSI. The activities which require support by the BI team are:
Agenda 2017 / Control System Retrofit by CSCO department
GaF: GSI-Anbindung an FAIR project with implications on SIS18 installations
The results of the FC2WG team (FAIR Controls and Commissioning Working Group)

Beam Instrumentation DAQ Upgrade and Control System Retrofit
Starting in Feb. 2016 a sequence of bi-weekly project meetings has been set up in order to organize and prepare for the required upgrade of diagnostic devices.
The working title of the project is for time being: BIDUCOR (Beam Instrumentation Data acquisition Upgrade and COntrol system Retrofit).
Apart from the preparation of presentations and meeting minutes the goal of the meetings is to collocate information on the various diagnostic systems and to generate a central document containing all relevant technical information about the required upgrade measures. At the moment it is foreseen to create two documents, one for BIDUCOR-SIS18 and one for BIDUCOR-HEST.

Meeting #1: 23.02.2016
Summary
MSchw presented the main goals for setting up this new project.
The various requirements from CSCO, FC2WG (R. Steinhagen) and LOBI regarding an upgrade of BI devices in 2016-2018 were discussed.
Technically, the meeting focused on the BI systems DCT, FCT and LASSIE (see remarks added to the presentation)
It was agreed to schedule the next meeting in 2 weeks, to proceed with the brain storming about SIS18 components.
In the upcoming meetings the upgrade of HEST components will be treated as well.

Meeting #2: 10.03.2016
Summary
MSchw summarized again the main goals for the new project.
Relevant issues of the last meeting with regard to DCCT, FCT and LASSIE were repeated.
Subject of this second meeting were the BI systems SIS-Radio, BBQ, BTF-Exciter, TOPOS and SPEKY.
The discussion yielded that the amount of available budget has to be considered as an important boundary condition for the upgrades.
Purchase of new/additional hardware needs to be considered for each BI system individually.
In the upcoming meetings the upgrade of HEST components will be treated as well.
